Dolores Reyes moved to Lynhaven in 1962 and quickly became one of the organizers behind the neighborhood’s tenant association, formed in response to a proposed rezoning that threatened several blocks of family-owned storefronts.
She talks about the door-to-door organizing that stopped the rezoning in 1966, and how that fight became the model for the block association that still meets today.
